Watch out New England — Gronknation family member, former NFL player, WWE Superstar and all-round party-rocking badass Mojo Rawley is heading to the Gronk’s backyard tonight for a special SmackDown show live from the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut.
Mojo is hot off his SummerSlam debut Sunday night – and needless to say, it was hyped!
With the energy levels up to 69, Mojo leapt into the ring with his tag team partner Zack Ryder to kickoff the WWE flagship event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, in a 12-man match — which of course, they won.
Tonight, the intensity is going to be even higher when WWE SmackDown comes to Patriots’ country.
The Gronk Hype Crew will be out in full force and the Gronk Bus will be making a very special appearance — so lock up your pets, put eye black decals on your kids, wear your best zubaz and neon hype gear and get ready to party Mojo-style!
You can guarantee that the whole stadium will be filled with chants of “We don’t get hyped, we stay hyped,” and shouts of “You ain’t hyped” to his opponents. There may also be some yells of “No Chix!” from one rowdy group like we saw in Buffalo last month (Gordie Jr., we’re blaming you!), which totally confused the commentators.
Having worked his way up the WWE’s NXT for the past four years, Mojo was drafted to SmackDown’s main roster in July – and his fans were more than ready to see him dominate the big leagues.
Mojo, whose real name is Dean Muhtadi, played college football with Gronk’s big bro Dan Gronkowski at Maryland, and has been adopted into the fold ever since. He went on to play for the Packers and Cardinals as a defensive end before an injury ended his NFL career but opened the door for his WWE dreams.
Now best friends with Gronk and the rest of the crew, fans will recognize him from such memorable moments as starring in Gronk’s tag team video last summer, dancing his ass off in neon on the stage for three days and nights straight on the Gronk Party Cruise, and being described as Rob’s “main turn-up guy” when the hit Miami with a poor GQ writer (no word on whether he survived or not …)
Here’s a teaser from WWE SummerSlam and be sure to check out Mojo and the Gronks on SmackDown, airing on USA Network tonight.
