When you’re running for Gronk, the bar is set high.
All the Gronk Nation Boston 2017 runners reached that bar and spiked it in their wake at the 121st Boston Marathon on Monday as they all completed the historic 26.2 mile race.
Even better, then did it with smiles on their faces and hyped-energy in their step … most of the way, at least.
They also raised over $90,410 for the Gronk Youth Foundation, the family’s organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting youth to reach their maximum potential by empowering them to be positively involved in sports, community activities, education, and fitness.
Rob, Papa Gronk and brothers Dan and Gordie Jr. presented a monster-sized check for $70,000 to Cristo Rey Boston High School on Friday at the Boston Marathon charity teams party on Friday as the 10 runners got amped up for the race.
The Gronk Fitness crew was back at the finishing line on Monday cheering them all on as they had their very own Gronk-style “Boyleston experience.”
They even got a taste of the party-rocking side of the “Being Gronk” by getting a ride to the starting line in Hopkinton on the Gronk Bus.
Some of them were asked if they hit the pole before the race …
Ha Ha Team-Limb-it-Less’ @HeadCoachKev & Teammate @S_Kaiser29 ask @TeamGronk87 #MarathonMonday “Who’s been on the Pole Dancing” en route to #Run 2017’s @BostonMarathon. It was all celebration many hours and a few blisters later when they got to kick back with Rob and the boys at the post-party, held in conjunction with the Matt Light Foundation, at Capo in Boston’s South End.
