How many kids can Rob and Gordie entertain at once? Turns out to be a lot…
Rob Gronkowski and his big brother Gordie Jr. came laden with gifts on Wednesday — $30,000 worth to be precise.
The goofy pair of Santas surprised the kids from Gorham, Maine, when they turned up at the youth football program weighed down with sports equipment.
Rob and Gordie made the impromptu visit after Gorham boosters equipment director, Kristina Westbrook, applied for a grant through the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation when she learned there were kids in town who weren’t playing football because they couldn’t afford the gear.
“To see him come and play with our kids, and make sure their season happens … I’m speechless,” Westbrook told local news WCSH. “Not really, but I am,” she giggled.
From now on, no child from 1st through 12th grade will be turned away from youth football in the town because they can’t afford the gear.
The brothers — who were both representing the family business in their Gronk Fitness tee shirts — even stuck around to throw footballs with the aspiring Patriots players. They were pretty impressed with their skills … hell, some of them were even taller than Julian Edelman!
“Had a blast up in Gorham, ME on behalf of the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation donating football equipment to all the kids K-8 to keep living their dream playing football!” Gronk wrote on Instagram after the visit.
“Everyone there were class acts and had a blast throwing to all the kids!”
Gronk and the guys were apparently late getting to Gorham High School as they put the wrong address into their GPS, according to one local news reporter, and they went to nearby Scarborough High School by mistake. Is time for Rob to start being the voice of the Waze app again, so he doesn’t get lost in future?
