Gronk's Heading to the Big Screen With Frank Grillo, Mel Gibson in Action Movie 'Boss Level'

Rob Gronkowski is gonna get to show off his acting chops and flex his muscles (but honestly, when doesn't he?) once again in upcoming action movie "Boss Level."

The big fella will share the big screen with "End of Watch" and "Zero Dark Thirty" actor Frank Grillo and "Lethal Weapon" legend Mel Gibson. Yep, he's actually going to have screen time with the original Mad Max.

Directed by Joe Carnahan ("The A Team," "Smokin' Aces") from a script written by the Borey Brothers, "Boss Level" co-stars Naomi Watts, Annabelle Wallis and Will Sasso.

Gronk's role is being kept under wraps so far, but it seems inevitable that it'll be a physical one!

The plot follows Roy Pulver (Grillo), a retired special forces veteran who becomes trapped in a never-ending loop that results in his death every day. So like "Groundhog Day" ... but with far more blood and guts.

Wallis will play a dental hygienist, Alice, who hates teeth but has a huge crush on her patient, Roy. She's also left repeating the same day by his side, usually as assassins try to kill her beloved.

Gronk's casting was first reported by the Tracking Board editor in chief Jeff Sneider, a Bostonian and diehard Patriots fan who is no doubt happy that his favorite tight end is heading back to Hollywood.

Of course, our hero is no stranger to the movie world.

Rob has 12 acting credits to his name, including playing himself in the "Entourage" movie, and appearing in "American Violence," "You Can't Have it" and "The Clapper."
