Gronk Surprises Woman Waiting on Heart, Kidney Transplant

Lauren Meizo is going through a waiting game that very few of us can imagine.

Sitting in a Boston hospital on the transplant list for a new heart and kidney, the 27-year-old Patriots fan from Chicopee, Massachusetts, had one dream -- to meet Rob Gronkowski.

Lauren shared that wish in a YouTube video last week, filmed from her bed at Brigham and Women's Hospital while wearing a Pats shirt.

Awaiting the green light for her second heart transplant, she said: "I would love for Rob Gronkowski - Gronk - from the New England Patriots to come deliver the news of when I get the call."

Or if that was too much pressure, Lauren said she'd just be happy to meet the big fella. "Anytime you want, because I've got nothing but time right now," she joked.

Ask and you shall receive -- especially if you're brave enough to battle a rare form of muscular dystrophy without complaining -- and Gronk and big brother Gordie Jr. surprised her on Monday by turning up in her room.

The boys brought Lauren flowers, a teddy bear, an autographed Pats jersey, an Ice Shaker (from Chris Gronkowski) and barrels of laughs as they hung out with her in the hospital room.

Rob even read to her ... but don't worry, it wasn't from "A Gronking to Remember."

"GRONK MADE MY WISH COME TRUE," Lauren wrote on Facebook afterwards, alongside a grinning selfie with Rob.
