Gronk Throws a Monster-Sized Retirement Celebration in Las Vegas
Posted by: Gronkowski
An NFL career that will go down in history deserves a retirement party to match, and a player who is known for his party skills almost as much as his touchdowns is just the man to do it.
Gronk threw a retirement party for the ages on Saturday night with the help of Monster Energy and the Palms Resort Casino in Las Vegas, inviting his family and closest friends to celebrate his nine record-breaking seasons in the NFL.
The crew started with a pool party at KAOS Dayclub as resident DJ Marshmello destroyed the decks while soaking up the sun at the state-of-the-art 100,000 sq. ft, fully integrated day/nightclub.
Rob took time out from the party to watch his other new favorite sport – motocross – at the Monster Energy AMA Supercross World Championship.
The amateur mountain biker performed the opening call and waved the start flag at the event before the riders hit the track, telling them: “Gentlemen and all you sexy ladies, start your engines!”
Then it was back to the Palms for the main event -- no, not the Canelo Alvarez-Daniel Jacobs fight that was also going down in Vegas that night – we’re talking about the most epic retirement party ever. But yes, Canelo was spotted in the building later, too.
Returning to KAOS after nightfall, the Gronkowski group took over adjoining private cabanas overlooking the pool and dance floor for a lights-out extravaganza lasting to the early hours fueled by Monster Energy as Puerto Rican artists Zion & Lennox performed below. The invite-only VIP bash featured everything you’ve come to expect and love including dance-offs starring Mojo Rawley, Camille Kostek and Dan “Hammer Time” Bonato, while bikini-clad Monster Energy girls swam in the private lap pool (don’t worry, there were life guards on duty).
Sunday was Cinco de Mayo, so of course the originator of “Yo soy fiesta” had to commemorate the holiday in style. The NoMad hotel at Park MGM's pool party JEMAA hosted the festivities and pulled out all the stops with 69-style table decorations and a Gronk-themed menu that included Rob’s Hyped-Up Moroccan Quinoa, Papa G’s Dry-Aged Beef Burger and Gordie G’s Protein Fix Shrimp Cocktail.

They even presented him with a cake in the shape of a No. 87 jersey that conveniently came with a confectionary football, how perfect to Gronk spike it with (cue smash cake style sugar and icing explosion).
Rob returned the favor by helping out Matoma in the DJ booth, getting the crowd hyped on the mic before showing off his skills playing the saxophone. And for anyone worrying that Gronk was neglecting his workouts since retiring two months ago, the big fella did some pushups to prove he’s not missed a gym session.
The weekend topped off an amazing few days in Vegas that started on Wednesday, May 1, when Gronk joined in the glamor of the Billboard Music Awards. That time he was showing off his acting skills playing a security guard trying to throw out host Kelly Clarkson in a hilarious opening skit.
Later in the show, he tag-teamed with Terry Crews to present the award for Top Rap Song, before busting out his best dance moves with the “Brooklyn Nine Nine” star.
