NFL Draft 2019: Welcome to the New England Patriots, N'Keal Harry
Posted by: Gronkowski
“And with the 32nd pick in the 2019 NFL Draft the New England Patriots select” … Arizona State wide receiver N'Keal Harry.
The wait was worth it for diehard fans who stayed up until midnight to watch Roger Goodell say those magical words to close out Round 1 Thursday. In fact, Draft Night may be the only time Patriots fans are excited to hear what Goodell has to say …
Thousands of fans still filled the bleachers on Broadway in Nashville, Tennessee, as Harry was shown putting on a Pats cap for the first time, despite driving rain that had been drenching them for hours.
WWE-worthy costumes and full face-paint were no match for the wrath of a Southern storm and the crowd looked like demented circus or the cast of “American Horror Story” by the time they drunkenly staggered out of downtown Nashvegas.
Backstage, the NFL’s newest recruits were hugging their moms, crying, carrying kids and basically still in shock from the rollercoaster of the last few months.
New York Jets draftee Quinnen Williams spent half his time on the podium praising Tom Brady! Erm, you’re playing for the opposition, dude. "Tom Brady is the greatest of all time. Any time you can get to somebody like Tom Brady it would be amazing," the No. 3 over DL said.
"I want to sack every quarterback, though, not just him. I want them to know my name." Good luck with that.
As for the Pats new WR who he’ll be going up against, Harry marks the first time they’ve have selected a receiver in the first round since Terry Glenn in 1996. And boss man Brady has already sent him a personal message: “Glad to have you N’Keal. Big things ahead, excited to work with you,” TB12 tweeted.

"I play with a lot of passion. Whenever that ball is in the air, I'll sacrifice anything to go get it,” 6-foot-2, 228-pound Harry told reporters after it was official. The rookie’s family is from St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean, but he was born in Toronto, Canada, and grew up with his grandmother in Arizona.
“It’s Harry for me,” Bill Belichick deadpanned from the Patriots war room to confirm the team’s decision, before calling Harry, who was watching from Scottsdale, Arizona, with his family.

Heading into Day 2 of the draft, New England still holds 11 picks — including two in the second round (56th and 64th overall).
