‘Shark Tank’ Is About to Get Gronked as the Ice Shaker Dives Into the Hit Reality Show
Posted by: Gronkowski
Prepare to get shaken (but not stirred) “Shark Tank” viewers, as the Gronkowski brothers invade Sunday’s show to pitch Chris’ best-selling Ice Shaker bottle.
After Rob and the New England Patriots take on the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium, tune in to see the Gronk boys on the hit ABC reality show (don’t worry, it was filmed over the summer before the 2017 NFL season started) as they win over the panel of investors with the most hyped pitches ever.
When Rob, Gordie Jr., Chris, Dan and Glenn hit up Mark Cuban and the rest of his panel in their best cut-off shirts, how could they not be impressed?
If you’re not familiar with the Ice Shaker (and have been sleeping under a rock for the last year), it is the best shaker bottle on the market, capable of holding ice for over 30 hours in a 75-degree room thanks to the double wall vacuum insulated cup. Whether you’re pumping iron in the gym or partying by a Las Vegas pool, this is the coolest bottle on the market in every way. (For more information on the Ice Shaker, check out Gronk Nation’s prior post here).
It seems like a no-brainer for “Shark Tank,” which has single-handedly boosted countless businesses since it premiered in 2009.
The idea behind the Ice Shaker came from Chris Gronkowski (a.k.a. the brains of the brothers) when he was working out on a hot Texas day and “by the time I got to the gym, condensation from my plastic shaker bottle had dripped all over my car’s cup-holders, my hands and my clothes,” he told Gronk Nation. “In the middle of my pump session, I grabbed my bottle and took a sip of water that was warm and had a lingering taste from yesterday’s protein shake.” Urgh, gross.
“I went home that night to look for an insulated shaker bottle … and realized there was nothing like that on the market,” he said. Thus the idea was spawned “to make the best shaker bottle possible.” About 20 prototypes and nearly five months later, the Ice Shaker as we know it was born – and shaker bottle history was made.
Fast forward almost a year and it has taken over the market thanks to its functional design and sleek style (hell, even the Pats were drinking from them before their Super Bowl LI victory!), and Chris credits his friends, his wife Brittany’s family and his four brothers “who help support and spread the word.”
The Gronk boys are no strangers to being in front of the cameras – from them all playing professional sports, conducting post-game interviews and pitching everything from Visa Checkout to Dunkin’ Donuts – Chris wasn’t nervous about going on “Shark Tank.”
“I was so over prepared that I was very confident in The Tank,” he said.
“I also had been watching ‘Shark Tank’ for years and by the time we went on and I felt like I was talking with friends.
“And I had my brothers with me so that always helps as well,” he added.
Chris and his team are already working on new products with different sized bottles and colors in time for Christmas (and the NFL post season).
But, in the meantime -- stay out of the water folks, the Ice Shaker is taking on the sharks … you have been warned!
“Shark Tank” airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
