Super Bowl LIII Miracle | Guest Blog by Jenna Sheedy

I planned on being in Atlanta for Super Bowl LIII.

After 10 years of watching Patriots games in the middle of the night while living in Europe and watching the Super Bowl till 5 a.m. on a Sunday, this year I’d watch it with friends in Atlanta. What could be better? I guess winning tickets and having the time of our lives might top that!

Everyone says that going to the Super Bowl is an experience like no other. Last week, thanks to buying some merchandise on GronkNation, I got to find out just how incredible it is. The Patriots winning their sixth Super Bowl was just icing on the cake! I had decided last minute to buy a flight to Atlanta, hoping that somehow I would find a ticket to the game but just really wanting to be around for the atmosphere and as close to the action as I could get to root for the team I grew up loving.

My family has always been a football family and our team has always been the Patriots. My brother was such a big fan that when he passed suddenly two years ago, we had everyone wear Patriots gear to his funeral because we know he would have loved that.

When the Pats won the AFC championship game I was watching with my family, from that win I decided I had to go to the game, somehow, in memory of my brother. I entered contests and bought raffle tickets. And then I went on a whim and bought a plane ticket. My mother’s 60th birthday was Jan. 30, so she also bought tons of raffle tickets in the hope for a win. She kept telling me she had a feeling we would win, that something good had to happen for Jonathan, my brother.

Friday morning I flew to Atlanta, with my brother’s jersey. At 7 a.m. I woke up in Philadelphia and looked at my phone, "Congratulations you have won 2 tickets, flights, hotel to the big game – GronkNation." I started screaming on the plane, everyone around me did too. I called my mom, "We won! We are going to the Super Bowl!" My dad came with her to Atlanta so we could be together and what followed was the most amazing weekend for us all.

The Patriots fan rally Saturday was an incredible way to start the weekend and get pumped to cheer our team on, and the parties were lit all over the city. Sunday’s tailgate party got us ready for the game. My dad met Lawyer Milloy, one of his favorite former Pats players. Chris, Gordie and Glenn Gronkowski were there too, and obviously, the life of the party!

Then it was game time and as we walked into the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the whole place was electric. The energy and sights in that stadium were incredible to be a part of. To watch and cheer for the Patriots with so many other fans was the best part of the weekend. And my brother was with us. He would have been the loudest in that stadium. He would have been so happy to know my mom was there for her birthday. The Pats winning was such a great thing to celebrate together. This was definitely a Super Bowl experience to remember and we have GronkNation to thank for it!
